My dreams, admittedly shallow, have come true

March 10, 2009

Rejoice book lovers! The CB I Hate Perfume Gallery in Brooklyn is selling a scent, called “In the Library,” inspired by the nearly-intoxicating scent of old, well loved books. The perfumer, Christopher Brosius, describes the scent as, “English Novel taken from a Signed First Edition of one of my very favorite novels, Russian & Moroccan leather bindings, worn cloth and a hint of wood polish.”

I’m trying to think of clever ways to convince my wife that this would be a wise purchase but so far I’m drawing blanks. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I haven’t got a clue how to convince a spouse that this is a good thing. I’d wear it, but I don’t think my husband would appreciate it, as he’s a “you read it and then just tell me about it” kind of guy. This scent would probablybe best marketed to someone desperately trying to attract an English-professor type. Or someone who’d do anything to get an “A.” 😀
