Breaking News

July 21, 2009

According to this Asthmatic Kitty Records page, a CD/DVD release of Sufjan Steven’s cinematic suite, titled The BQE, is set for release in October–two years after it premiered at BAM in October of 2007. Along with film and music, Sufjan is also releasing a 40-page comic book that personifies the Brooklyn-Queens expressway and, I can only imagine, is delightful.

More on this most exciting release, including CD/DVD package content and deluxe vinyl package contents can be found at All Good Naysayers and a more in-depth description of the project, as a whole, can be found from Asthmatic Kitty.

This makes me excited. It also makes me want to take the BQE just to have a better appreciation for the album. Unfortunately, the only BQE is in New York… and not in Detroit, which if it were to have a brother expressway, I’m sure it would be in Detroit.
